Customer had us out to check out some leaking coming from her furnace area. She also asked us to fix a drain pipe from our install and check the humidifier. I fixed the drain pipe and turned humidity down. I also noticed the exhaust boot to be leaking. After inspection of the boot I found no cracks or holes or any reason why it would be leaking. I re installed the boot with a bead of silicone and a new hose clamp. No leaks present at at this time. If anything were to come up reach back out.

We were out today because heat was failing to operate. Furnace going off on pressure switch fault. Tested draft of the inducer motor, which indicated obstruction in the vent pipe. Went outside and found a toy car and about handful of pinecones stuffed in the pipe. Removed Lightning McQueen from his prison and restored operation of the furnace. Both the furnace and McQueen will live to race another day! Took care of Club tune-up while I was here. Performed heating system tuneup. Inducer motor and blower motor amp draws all within proper specification. Tested system safeties and ignition components. Pulled and cleaned flame sensor. Installed new water heater
Failed water heater. Water heater pressure valve blew. Burner corroded and tank in poor shape. Expansion tank suggested. With the condition of the water heater and repairs, a replacement is scheduled the following week
Switching potted expansion tank from the cold side of the water heater to the hot side .
We were out today for our 19.99 AC tuneup special. Condenser fan is overheating. Refrigerant levels are also below target, so unit will struggle to keep up. Performed air conditioning tuneup. Unit checked is operating, but has many worn components. System is passed its life expectancy and does not meet modern efficiency standards. We at GR Metro cannot guarantee the safety and operational integrity of this system and therefore recommend replacement. Thank you for having us out!
Katie had us out to look over pool heater. Tripping breaker after a while. Coil is completely plugged. Did a very thorough chemical cleaning of the coil and replaced failed capacitor. Restored operation and ran for 30 minutes with no issues. Temperature drop across coil is within range, per manufacturer. Compressor winding ohm test was good. Compressor pulls 162 amps at start up. Should be no higher than 148, so compressor is showing some fatigue. Run amps are within normal range. Fan motor bearings are worn and motor pulling above recommended full load amps. Also noticed that breaker size is 50 amp, where the manufacturer calls for a 60 amp breaker. At this time, unit is running, through it did trip breaker once after work performed, but has been running solidly since resetting. Dwight will reach out to discuss. Thank you for having us out!
